I think I'll pass on the summer.
In all of her attempts at staying aloof to the idea of dating Ethan Parks, the official third stooge, Faith had noticed that she was failing miserably. While it was only their fourth date in the last three months, she'd resorted to late night booty calls plenty of times between the dates. It wasn't her fault, of course, he was just very convincing and very fun to visit late at night. She'd be lying if she acted as though she hadn't done the same thing to him countless times. They were each other's booty calls and currently he happened to be the only man she was sleeping with. How that had happened was beyond her, but she refused to think about it often.
The real wonder of their flirtationship was that throughout the last three months, she'd seen more of his son than she had him. It was dangerous territory for her to be around Wyatt as often as she was, but with her often visiting Leah and Nora at Elliot's home, she couldn't very well ignore the adorable little boy. She'd taken quite a liking to him, and he to her. While she'd always been keen on spoiling her niece, she was beginning to be the ultimate spoiler of all the children that had impeded on her life. Faith was still reeling that it had gone from two to four in such a short time, but she wouldn't have traded any of them for the world. Nora was Jamie's best friend and Wyatt was Elliot's nephew, soon enough she figured that Nora would be another niece of hers and therefore Wyatt would become a larger part of her life.
Wyatt's intrusion in her heart was posing to make keeping things casual between her and Ethan difficult. She loved his son to bits and in many ways Wyatt reminded her of Ethan. She was hook, line and sinker falling for the two boys and her brakes had gone out.
For their fourth date, Faith had asked for something less extravagant and active. There was a Mariners game on and although Montana didn't have a professional major league team, she had grown to be a Seattle Mariners fan over her years in America. Growing up in a house full of boys, she had no hopes of knowing nothing about sports. Baseball had always been her favorite. So with a case of beer in hand and a baggy jersey covering her small frame, she knocked on the door to Ethan's apartment. It was easy enough to fight off the nerves, they were just sitting and watching a ball game while drinking beer. She could do that.
Ain't gonna fall for it this time.

When Emma found out that Faith and Ethan had made plans for a fourth date, she had practically kidnapped Wyatt to spend the entire day with her and the little family she, Elliot and the girls had almost instantly become. She had insisted that Wyatt slept over as well with a conspiratorial wink at Ethan. Ethan had told her that he was embarrassed for Elliot having to deal with her and had gotten a whack to the back of the head with a flying magazine.
Ethan's apartment was almost an extension to his identity as a perpetual bachelor. Sports, comic and movie paraphernalia dotted practically every corner of the entire place with one black leather recliner, an old three-seater couch and a wide screen TV. His kitchen, however, was his pride and joy. Everything was sleek, smooth corners, black marble tops and a light gray baroque backsplash.
With as much time he spent in it when he could, he took his time making sure it looked pristine. It was where he was putting the finishing touches to their snacks for the game they were about to watch when he heard the knock on the door. "It's not locked!" He called out as he plated the jalapeño poppers with it's dip on the side. He poured out two kinds of chips into bowls and brought them out to the living room, bumping into Faith who looked ridiculously sexy in her oversized jersey.
"Goddamn, Argent. You look amazing." He placed the bowls down to grab Faith by her waist, pulling her close. "Almost don't want to watch the game." He smirked before pressing his lips against hers.

I think I'll pass on the summer.
She could faintly hear his voice through the door and with a nod, she twisted the knob and walked in, careful with the alcohol which happened to be the most important part. Her head swiveled in search for him until he was suddenly right in front of her. While she knew the beer was top on the list of important things, she managed to part ways with the case and set it on the floor. Her arms settled around his neck and she grinned at him, "I do know how to pull off a jersey. Years of practice and all."
When he went on about not wanting to watch the game, she placed a hand on his chest, "Oh ho ho. I don't think so, love. You may not want to watch, but I do." She drew out the last word and tilted her head to the side. Her fingers from her other hand slipped into the hair at the back of his neck, "D'you know how great baseball pants are? They make baseball butts look next level. It's the only thing that got me through the early years of puberty." Hey, some girls had shirtless men on their walls, she'd had baseball players in a batting position. Little did her father know that it was in large part because of the glorious view.
Her other hand slid down to his chest and she gave him a pat, "Alright, alright. Hands off. We've got beer to drink and a game to watch. I do believe you had snacks as well?" Faith stood on her tip toes to look over his shoulder at the table. She gave him a quick peck on the lips before slipping her way out of his hands and finding a spot on the couch.
Ain't gonna fall for it this time.

Ethan whistled lowly and shook his head. "How'd I luck out with you, I don't know. But I ain't questionin' it." He grinned and pecked her on her lips. When she mentioned the baseball pants, Ethan had to roll his eyes.
"Look, I am not going to wear baseball pants for you okay? Not even in bed. Keep dreamin' about your Segura and your Gonzales." He chuckled before letting go of her to go back to the kitchen for the poppers and dips.
"Chips, guac, poppers and beer. What more could we need?"
He set the plate and dips on the coffee table and slid next to Faith, tugging at her to get closer. "Don't be shy. Plenty of space on my lap."

I think I'll pass on the summer.
Faith's eyebrows pulled together for a moment in thought and she nodded, "I do recall three little fairies dropped me right into your lap. Three very persistent and nagging fairies at that." She snorted and accepted the peck from him with a wide smile.
The smile started to slip as he went on about how he wouldn't wear baseball pants for her. She supposed she didn't mind so much, she could always ask Emma to sport them for her. It wasn't as though a girl's butt would look bad in them either. Least of all Emma's. However, she didn't think she should point that out to Ethan for fear of him getting jealous over her best friend. Or worse, thinking he could pull off a threesome with them. Emma was off limits to the both of them, being quite the smitten kitten with Elliot. Faith couldn't find a reason to be upset about it either, Elliot was all too perfect for Emma and Leah. "Fine I will just have to pull out the old posters from around my adolescent bedroom way back when."
Once he settled on the couch beside her, she complied with his tugging. Faith draped her legs over his and rested her head against his shoulder, "Of all the words to use for me, I'm certain shy has not been one of them." Her finger poked his cheek and slid down to his jaw to emphasize her words.

The mention of his brothers and her best friend had Ethan chuckling. "So it's not because I had game. Alright. I'll concede." He held his hands up in mock surrender.
Ethan snorted when Faith spoke about old posters. "As long as you pull them down when I go over to your place, I'm good. I can't be competing with talented baseball players who look like they were hand crafted by Michelangelo himself. I like feeling at least adequate in bed." He grinned.
Faith's finger down his jaw caused him to smirk. "That's what I like to hear." The private contractor responded before reaching out to grab the remote to turn on the game.

I think I'll pass on the summer.
His game was definitely not what had nudged her in his general direction. Emma was insistent that he was a good guy for her, oddly enough given that they seemed to be very similar. But if Emma was behind it, Faith could trust that it was worth giving it a go. Her best friend was very aware of the problems she had with commitment and men in general, so for her to believe that Ethan would be a decent counterpart, well, she figured she could test the waters. He hadn't turned out to be too bad, at least he was funny and attractive. Her eyes rolled back in her head and she laughed, "Is that what you call it?"
His request to remove the posters was met with an innocent smile, "Aww baby, are you jealous of my sexy baseball players?" She patted his cheek, giving him a sympathetic smile. It was hard not to find the whole thing hilarious. The last thing he had to worry about were posters. The man in front of her was beautiful and three-dimensional. The second bit was important when it came to what happened in her bedroom. "I suppose I could take them down, if it'll make your performance as good as it usually is." At least he didn't insist on talking about feelings that weren't tied to sex. She'd shoved her therapy brain to the back.
Faith wrapped his arm around her and placed his hand on her thigh while the other turned the tv on. Her eyes went from his face to the tv and she turned it to the game. The beginning was always slow going, so she knew that she didn't have to pay too much mind to it. Instead she traced patterns over the hand that was on her thigh and cuddled closer to him.
Ain't gonna fall for it this time.

"Oh so that's how you're gonna play it huh, English?" Ethan chuckled. Shrugging, he figured she could say anything she wanted. The fact was, this was their fourth date, she adored his son and they've been having a really good time together. He didn't see her going anywhere else. Hell, him either for that matter.
He shook his head and rolled his eyes at her cheek pat. "Nope. I'm definitely not jealous of sexy baseball player posters." He responded, hiding his smile. He then raised an eyebrow at her. "Good? You think my performance is good? Do I need to up my game? I'm going to up my game. You'll be the death of me, Doc." He shook his head in amusement.
Ethan automatically pulled her close, with one hand on her thigh as requested while the other grazed her side lightly. "You sure you wanna watch the game?" He asked with a smirk.

I think I'll pass on the summer.
"Play? You think I'm joking? Silly, silly boy." She grinned at him to show that she was in fact joking. Not that she thought he actually had game, but she also didn't think he was without game either. The man didn't need to be a smooth talker, he just had to smile and she melted. That or grab his arm, catch him bending over, have him hug her...literally everything he did made her weak at the knees.
Faith shrugged at his responses and a smirk remained on her face. She wasn't going to give him anything more to boost his ego about his performance in bed. He should have known by that point that she understated most things. He was as good at sex as she was, it was just a matter of their chemistry together. She didn't particularly believe that one person was better at sex than another. It just made sense as to how the people having sex were together.
Her lips pressed to his cheek a few times and she nodded, "I'm positive. Completely, one-hundred percent positive." That didn't mean she couldn't occasionally pay him more attention than she did the tv. "I can stop if it's too distracting for you."
Ain't gonna fall for it this time.

Ethan couldn't help but stare at Faith as she spoke. Her voice was giving him chills. She was very much a distraction for him and it was entirely unfair. Nothing on TV was going to pry his eyes away from her.
Her response to his tease had him groaning. "Don't you dare." He chuckled as his hand snaked over her stomach.
As the game picked up its pace, however, he did manage to look up from his companion, yelling at the TV when one of the players flubbed a throw. "What the hell was that?" He yelled, throwing his hand in the direction of the TV, like it would suddenly change the play.

I think I'll pass on the summer.
Faith smiled and nuzzled his cheek, "That's what I thought." She couldn't help herself, he was so fun to poke at and pick on. She was just glad that he hadn't gotten annoyed by her antics because most men couldn't handle a woman that had a bit of snark to her. Obviously he'd dealt with Emma for years, but Faith didn't think Emma's bite was quite as hard as hers could be.
When the game began to get good, she turned her attention to it and at the same time as him, her hand shot up and she sighed in frustration, "This bloke clearly can't see the bloody plate. Look at that replay and tell me that his foot touched the plate before the ball hit the glove!" She groaned and put her outstretched hand to her forehead. Faith curled up closer to him, shaking her head repeatedly as she settled back into him. It was sort of funny that they reacted so similarly, but Faith was doing what she could not to linger on it.

Ethan had surrounded himself with strong women his entire life. Even his ex, for all her faults, was a take no prisoners kind of woman, which was what he fell for in the first place. He was definitely intimidated by them but it was more out of awe than of fear. Faith was definitely that kind of woman so it wasn't a surprise that he was quickly falling for her too. And also why he knew whatever snarky thing that came out of her mouth wasn't really meant to hurt.
Faith's similar reaction to his at the game further proved how in sync they actually were. Which made him grumble to himself about how well his brothers and Emma apparently knew him.
He wrapped his arm around her stomach to brace her as he grabbed a few chips. He reached one out to Faith before putting one in his mouth. "Haniger better pick up the pace or they're gonna be losing out." Ethan shook his head before grabbing a beer, cracking it open and drinking.

I think I'll pass on the summer.
If she were being honest, this date was beginning to be her favorite. Of course she loved the get up and go types of dates and she loved that he was the kind of person that wanted to experience life in such a way that was exciting and different. But there was this overwhelming comfort that was settled over her just being at his place, in his arms and watching a baseball game with him. It reminded her of her childhood years, being smushed between her brothers on the couch and enjoying the simplicity of it. Granted she enjoyed this set up far more given that Ethan was who he was, but it was just easy to go along with. It felt familiar.
Faith took the offered chip and put it in her mouth, her eyes still glued to the television. She hadn't minded being jostled around while he grabbed for snacks and a beer because his arm remained firmly around her. When he brought the can away from his lips, she plucked it from his hand and took a drink, too. Sharing was caring and all that. It wasn't as though she had to worry about cooties from him, given that she was sleeping with him and kissed him frequently.
After gulping back the beer, she nodded, "It's amazing that some of these guys get paid millions of dollars and are clueless as hell." She replaced the can back in his hand and leaned her head back against his shoulder, "I'd hoped for a blow out, but it looks like that isn't happening."
Ain't gonna fall for it this time.

Ethan didn't think twice about it when Faith took the beer can from him. It wasn't like they didn't have more and he had never been opposed to sharing anything. Hell, he was a master of sharing because of Wyatt and his good crazy influence on him. He took the can back and snorted at Faith remark.
"Like I get that you need some excellent hand eye co-ordination going on but like seriously where's the hand brain co-ordination. That was an easy ball." Ethan exclaimed. He took a deep breath and shook his head. "Wyatt can throw better."
He moved forward again, this time just grabbing the entire bowl of chips to set on Faith's lap as he leaned back on his couch. "You getting comfy, doc?"

I think I'll pass on the summer.
Faith enjoyed watching him get riled up over the game, it was both adorable and comical. If they ever went far enough for him to meet her family, she had a feeling that he would more than get along with her older brothers. She was certain that even they would fall for his charming ways. After the occasional threat here and there, they'd welcome him with one big bro hug. She may have even gone so far as to say that her father would like him, assuming he wasn't on some bender.
She sighed and glanced up at him, "Maybe I am." She gave him a grin and turned her face into his neck, her eyes sliding shut. The fact that they'd only been on four dates meant very little to her. He was someone that made her feel inexplicably comfortable which, while it was terrifying, was something she'd been missing since her fiancé. Faith felt like she fit in with his family and she'd already been around them all for quite some time just never with Ethan. Emma had introduced her to the mix and was the one that wanted her to stay a part of it by being with Ethan, too.
Taking a deep breath, she nuzzled his neck and gave him a peck on the cheek before she pulled back and looked at him, "You're just too comfortable. It's completely unfair."
Ain't gonna fall for it this time.
